Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel around 6:30 AM. The first stop is Chinchero, a picturesque Andean town known for its breathtaking mountain scenery, traditional textile cooperatives, and well-preserved Inca ruins that still echo the past.
Next, we continue to Moray, a remarkable archaeological site with massive circular terraces. Scholars believe this was an advanced agricultural laboratory where the Incas experimented with different microclimates and crops. Not far away lies the famous Maras Salt Mines, where locals have been harvesting salt from natural springs for centuries—an extraordinary sight of thousands of white salt pools across the mountainside.
Around midday, enjoy a break at a carefully selected local restaurant for lunch (not included), a chance to taste authentic Andean flavors.
In the afternoon, discover the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo, a fascinating blend of ancient stone streets, vibrant markets, and the impressive fortress ruins that once served as both a temple and a strategic stronghold.
Today is the highlight of your journey: the visit to the legendary Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
