Discover the Real Pisac Sacred Valley

Unforgettable Pisac Tour Experience from Cusco is a unique half-day Sacred Valley experience designed for travelers who want more than the typical panoramic stop included in standard valley tours.

Located just 33 km (20 miles) north of Cusco, the Pisac Inca ruins are one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Peru. While most Sacred Valley tours visit only a small section due to time limitations, this guided hike allows you to explore the upper terraces, ceremonial sectors, and the magnificent Temple of the Sun in depth.

During the hike, you will also observe the largest Inca cemetery in the Sacred Valley, carved directly into the mountainside. These ancient cliff burial sites create a dramatic landscape that often reminds visitors of the famous cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado — offering a striking visual connection for travelers from the United States.

This experience is ideal as an acclimatization hike in Cusco, especially for travelers preparing for the Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek, or Ausangate Trek.

Often referred to as “the other Machu Picchu”, Pisac features stunning agricultural terraces, original Inca pathways, fine stone masonry, and breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley.

Why This Pisac Hiking Tour is Different

Unlike traditional Sacred Valley tours, we focus entirely on Pisac — allowing you to:

  • Small groups for a more personal and relaxed experience
  • Guided Pisac hike through upper terraces most tours skip
  • Explore original Inca trails, the Temple of the Sun, and the Snake Gate
  • Pisac features one of only two known Inca sundials in the Cusco region, the other located in Machu Picchu.
  • Ancient Inca burial site (Peruvian cliff dwellings)
  • Some of the mummies in the Inca Museum come from this ancient burial site.
  • Visit less crowded ceremonial areas
  • Experience a relaxed and immersive cultural visit
  • Breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley
  • Perfect balance of culture, nature, and light adventure
  • Delicious local lunch and traditional drink near the colorful Pisac Peru market

This is one of the best half-day hikes in the Sacred Valley for travelers seeking culture, scenery, and light adventure.

Perfect Acclimatization Hike in Pisac Cusco

Traveling to high altitude?
This moderate Pisac ruins hike is ideal before multi-day treks like the Inca Trail or Salkantay. You’ll gradually adapt to the elevation while enjoying spectacular scenery and in-depth cultural insight.

Experience the Authentic Pisac Market

After exploring the ruins, we head to the vibrant Pisac market, one of the most traditional artisan markets in the Sacred Valley.

The colorful Pisac Peru market offers handmade textiles, local crafts, and a real connection to Andean culture — not just a tourist shopping stop.

We finish the experience with a carefully selected local lunch, giving you a true taste of the region.
