Ancascocha Trek, located at 3,700 meters above sea level, combines adventure, culture, and, above all, connects to Machu Picchu. The beauty of these mountains is home to both domesticated and wild animals such as Alpacas, Llamas, Sheep, Condors, Eagles, etc. This trail is designed for adventurous people who love mountains and Inca culture, as along the way we will pass by different archaeological sites like Perolniyoc, Paucarcancha, and Patallaqta.

Day 1: Cusco-Soqma-Perolniyoc-Rayan.
Day 2: Rayan-KuychiKasa Pass-Chancachuco-Ancascocha Escuela.
Day 3: Ancascocha Lake-Huayanay Pass-Quesca-Collpa-Paucarcancha.
Day 4: Paucarcancha-Hatunchaka-Inca Trail-PataLlaqta-KM82-Ollantaytambo-Aguas Calientes.
Day 5: Aguas Calientes-MachuPicchu-Cusco.

The day start when we pick you up from your hotel at 6am in the morning in a clean, and cozy van to drive for 2 hours to Soqma that lies in the middles of the Mountains. Where we will have the honor to introduce our team that consist of Your Mountain Guide, The Cook, Assistant cook, and Muleteers. From Soqma will start hiking up to the Waterfalls for 2 hours. Then we hike up 1:30 to the Mountain shoulder where Perolniyoc Inca site lies, we explore the Inca place which is flank by ragged Mountains, Valleys, and Waterfall. After exploring this Inca site we continue up for 45min to the Rayan camping place (3,700 meters / 12,139 ft). Lunch and free time to get use to the Altitude. You can do small explorations in Rayan and do not forget to enjoy the milky way of the Incas just above you a starry star, constellations and more.
We wake you up with Coca tea or Coffee early in the morning. You will have a hearty breakfast to start the day. We hike up to Kuychikasa Pass for 3h 30min. the trail is gentle up and small platforms where we can snack. on the way up Your Mountain Guide will do a lot of minibreaks to enjoy more the beauty of the Andes Mountains. You will be above tree line, the area you will see is Puna region (Paramo). lot of straw (estipa ichu) which is prime for that, also animals like Condors soaring high up, Eagles, and your favorite one “Veronica” Snow Capped Mountain (19,226ft/5,860m). Stunning view of the Grand Veronica Snow Peak from Kuychikasa Pass (4,450 m /14,599 ft), Quechua spelling that means “Rainbow Pass”. From the Rainbow pass we hike 45 min away to reach Lunch place Chancachuco (4,312 m / 14,147 ft). the trail is undulating from you will enjoy the dramatic mountain ranges scenery, very sharp mountain range, Red Mountains, Snow Peaks. Also Asteroids holes. After a relaxing hike and Lunch, we go undulating for 45 min and then hike down to the river for about 2h 30 min, this is the real Off the Beaten Paths. Once there in the river We go across the local bridge and hike up for 20 min to reach our camping place Ancascocha Escuela (3,700 m/12,139 ft). Diner and Tea time.
We wake up at 5:30 am in the morning. We enjoy our breakfast and then We get ready to hike up to the Second Pass Huayanay Pass (4,650 m/15,255ft) this pass is the highest on this trek to MachuPicchu. The first hill is not very steep and the 60 % of the trail up to Huayanay is steep, stony and rugged terrain. Along the way you will enjoy Red Mountain, Ancascocha Lake, Waterfall, and The Inca Trail. In this section you have trekking and Culture because our hike is Cultural too. Once in the Huayanay Pass (4,650 m/15,255ft) the highest point in this trek, you will see far in a distance The Grand Salkantay Snow Capped Peak and the Vilcabamba mountain range where the Classic Inca Trail lies. Now time to hike down undulating trail to Quesca, in this portion of the trek we go through herds of Alpacas, and Llamas that make nice our trek. Once in Quesca we have our delicious lunch to refuel our bodies. After lunch The hike is a gentle down and we go back to the tree line where there is a lot of vegetation. From Quesca to Paucarcancha is 3 hours down. once we reach The Archeological site of Paucarcancha you will have a guided walk there. End of the day. Camping and dinner in Paucarcancha Village.
Today is the last day of the hike so we will do a small portion of the Classic Inca Trail. You will have the opportunity to see PataLlaqta Archeological site. PataLlaqta is one of the biggest Inca Site along the Classic Inca Trail. 4 hours Hike from Paucarcancha to km82 (The beginning of The Classic Inca Trail). in this section you will see hikers from the classic Inca Trail. Lunch at km82 and We say bye bye to our amazing team here. Drive to Ollantaytambo in order to catch the Train down to Machupicchu town. Train ride 1h 35min. Hotel and Dinner in Aguas Calientes.
Being in our destination today is the day to get to know a vibrant culture in The Andes Mountains of Peru, an Inca City high up in the Clouds, MachuPicchu Archeological Site, built with Granit rock That seems to be a White Stone Inca City. You will have a Guided Walk for 2 hours with your expert Mountain Guide. If you elected to hike an extra Mountain, after the Guided walk you will have an extra trek to either MachuPicchu Mountain or HuaynaPicchu Mountain. Bus down down to Machupicchu town. You can have a coffee, water, lunch, Pisco sour, beer whatever you need while you wait to catch your train back to Poroy train station or Ollantaytambo train station. From both cases we pick you up from the Train station to CUSCO. We drop you in your Hotel.
