Embark on our Sacsayhuaman Tour and discover one of the most impressive and mysterious fortresses of the Inca Empire. Located just outside Cusco at 3,701 meters above sea level, Sacsayhuamán showcases extraordinary Inca architecture and engineering that continue to inspire both archaeologists and travelers.
Built during the reign of Pachacútec in the 15th century, this massive stone complex was not only a defensive stronghold but also a ceremonial and astronomical center. Its colossal limestone walls—some blocks weighing over 100 tons—fit together with such precision that no mortar was needed, a construction marvel still admired today.
As you walk through the site, our expert guide will take you along its wide plazas and labyrinthine passageways, sharing legends and stories about Inca rituals, battles, and cosmic ceremonies. Highlights include the remnants of the Temple of the Sun and panoramic viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the Cusco valley.
This guided tour of Sacsayhuamán is more than a historical visit—it’s a journey into the spiritual heart of the Inca civilization. By the end, you’ll understand why the Incas considered Sacsayhuamán a masterpiece and why it remains a symbol of Peruvian identity and pride.

Hipolito was an excellent guide for Saqsaywaman, I highly recommend him. Without him I wouldn’t have been able to recognize all the amazing features and rich history of these ruins. He is very knowledgeable about the site, points out all the interesting features, and is always prepared with an extra visual from his book to help illustrate everything he’s explaining.
This tour helped me recognize the richness of Qosqo culture and the amazing history of Saqsaywaman.
